Irrigation Signal estimates your soil moisture content per plot, up to five days in advance. Irrigation-Signal works for grassland, arable crops and field vegetables. The app provides you with a tailor-made irrigation advice per plot. This prevents drought stress ahead of time, and you’ll never irrigate too much.

Five-day forecast

Irrigation Signal estimates the current soil moisture in your plot and then provides a five-day forecast of the moisture availability. It provides an irrigation advice and an overview of factors that influence the soil moisture. Irrigation Signal is suitable for grassland, silage maize, potatoes, sugar beet, peas, onions, carrots, salsify and spinach.

Local data

Irrigation Signal predicts the available soil moisture based on a mathematical model.

This model uses local data: a high-resolution soil map, local precipitation and temperature, evaporation from the crop. Also ditches and drainage pipes are included in the model.

The crop itself plays an important role in the soil moisture balance. That is why crop type, sowing or planting date, root depth, crop development, degree of crop evaporation and desired watering time are also included in the model.

Irrigation Signal works with four classes: too wet, sufficient, moisture is limiting, and too dry.

Irrigation Signal estimates the presence, depth and resistance of drainage materials. You can adjust these. You can also specify ditch levels or adjust precipitation data. The irrigation amounts will be entered by you.
